Adherence to Industry Best Practices
ACA Accreditation signifies that a beach camp adheres to industry best practices. While in-person open houses have their benefits, we believe that our online open house is just as good, if not better. Here are a few reasons why:

It's essential to equip your camper with the right beach camp gear, including the perfect board shorts
1. Consider the Fit for Optimal Comfort: Comfort is key during beach camp activities. Look for board shorts that offer a relaxed fit without being too loose. Consider shorts with an adjustable waistband, featuring a drawstring or Velcro closure, allowing for easy adjustments to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.
2. Prioritize Quality Materials for Durability: Beach camp can be demanding on clothing, particularly during water sports and beach adventures. Look for board shorts made from high-quality materials, such as polyester or a polyester-spandex blend. These fabrics are known for their durability, quick-drying properties, and resistance to fading, stretching, and wear.
3. Focus on Quick-Drying and Water-Repellent Features: Water activities are a central part of beach camp, so selecting board shorts with quick-drying capabilities is crucial. Look for shorts with water-repellent coatings or materials that naturally repel water, ensuring they dry rapidly after swimming or engaging in water sports. Quick-drying shorts also provide comfort, preventing chafing and discomfort during prolonged wear.
4. Ensure UV Protection for Outdoor Fun: Protecting your child's skin from the sun's harmful rays is paramount during beach camp. Choose board shorts that offer built-in UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) to shield their skin from harmful UV radiation. Look for a UPF rating of 30 or higher for optimal protection, and consider pairing the shorts with a rash guard for added coverage.
5. Assess Practical Pocket Design and Placement: Consider the practicality of pocket design and placement when selecting board shorts for beach camp. While excessive pockets may not be necessary, having one or two pockets can be useful for storing small essentials such as sunscreen or a sunglasses. Look for pockets with secure closures like Velcro or zippers to prevent items from falling out during active beach camp activities.
6. Reflect Your Camper's Style and Camp Spirit: Attending Aloha Beach Camp is a time for self-expression and embracing the camp spirit. Involve your son in the selection process and choose board shorts that reflect their style and camp enthusiasm. Look for designs featuring beach-themed patterns, vibrant colors, or even the camp logo to ignite their excitement and help them feel connected to the camp community.
7. Consider Ease of Maintenance and Care: If there's one thing we can tell you for sure, your child is going to get messy and dirty at camp! That means selecting board shorts that are easy to clean and maintain is essential! Look for pairs that are machine washable and resistant to color fading. Consider whether they require any special care instructions, such as avoiding fabric softeners or ironing, to ensure the shorts last throughout the duration of beach camp.

This email is to notify you we are postponing today's Aloha Beach Camp Open House due to high demand, and we are moving it to Monday, May 8 as an online Open House instead.
We are glad so many kids have registered to enjoy the Aloha Beach Camp experience this summer. However, our offer to sign up with free registration has generated an overwhelming response -- so much so that over 100 campers signed up last week -- and we do not want to give anyone false hope of getting into camp.
If you have a ticket to the open house, we will guarantee a space at camp for you.
We are unsure how many spots we have left until all current registrations are processed. We will have a much better handle on space availability by the end of this coming week. However, rest assured that we are holding a space at camp for you, assuming you sign up by May 8. Use code FREEREGISTRATION to save $50 at checkout. We highly suggest signing up now to get a spot if you aren't already registered to make sure your child gets into camp.

We hope to see you there!
I hope this message finds you well. As the camp director of Aloha Beach Camp, I am writing to inform you that we unfortunately have to cancel our big open house at Zuma Beach this coming Sunday, March 26. Due to the recent rain and the cold weather that is predicted for Sunday, the conditions at the beach are far from ideal and would not provide a good representation of the Aloha Beach Camp experience.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we want to assure you that we will reschedule the open house as soon as possible and contact you with the new date.
Please note that the cancellation of the open house may cause a rush of new enrollments. If you were planning on signing up for Aloha Beach Camp, we urge you to do so now while we still have space available. We have received a lot of interest from families who were planning on attending the open house, and we want to make sure that you have the chance to secure your spot before it's too late.
Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you at Aloha Beach Camp soon.

True Story About Aloha Beach Camp's Day-by-Day Enrollment Format Caused a Family to Become Overjoyed with the Camp Experience
Want to hear a story about why Aloha Beach Camp's day-by-day enrollment format is so much better and more convenient than other camps that make you sign up according to advance sessions? The following story is based on true events!
Once upon a time, there was a mom named Sarah who was looking for a summer camp for her child. She was excited to find a camp that seemed perfect for her child, but was disappointed to learn that she had to sign up for the camp under prearranged sessions set by the camp. This meant that she had to commit to sending her child to camp for a set number of weeks, even if she wasn't sure if her child would enjoy it or if her schedule would allow for it.
Sarah didn't like the idea of being locked into a rigid schedule, and was worried that she might end up wasting money if her child didn't like the camp or if something came up that prevented her from sending her child to camp as planned. She was about to give up on the idea of sending her child to camp altogether, when she discovered that there were some other camps that offered more flexible options.
These camps allowed her to sign up for camp by the day, which meant that she could send her child to camp for as many or as few days as she wanted, and could easily adjust her schedule if needed. This was exactly what Sarah was looking for, and she was overjoyed to find that there were camps that offered the convenience and flexibility that she needed. She quickly signed her child up for camp, and was thrilled to know that she could send her child to camp without having to commit to a rigid schedule.
In the end, Sarah was grateful that she had found a camp that met her needs and allowed her to send her child to camp on her own terms. She was able to relax and enjoy the summer, knowing that her child was having fun and making new friends at camp, without having to worry about being locked into a rigid schedule.
Now doesn't that sound great to you!? It probably goes without saying Sarah ended up sending her child to Aloha Beach Camp. Her child loves camp and she loves picking any days she wants to send her child to camp!
Beach safety is an important issue to consider when planning a trip to the beach. Whether you're going for a swim, enjoying the sun, or taking part in water sports, there are a few key things to keep in mind to ensure that you and your loved ones stay safe.
Aloha Beach Camp's summer beach camp programs always take place at Zuma Beach, Lifeguard Tower 7. This tower is staffed with a public lifeguard supervising our campers and staff at all times.
If you're planning on taking part in water sports, such as surfing or boating, it's important to take the appropriate safety precautions. This may include wearing a life jacket or taking a lesson from a trained instructor. These steps can help reduce the risk of accidents and ensure that you enjoy your time at the beach safely.
Finally, it's important to remember that the sun can be dangerous, especially during the hottest times of the day. Be sure to use sunscreen with a high SPF, and reapply it often to protect your skin. Wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your face and eyes, and take breaks in the shade to avoid overheating.
In conclusion, beach safety is an important issue to consider when planning a trip to the beach. By taking the appropriate precautions and being aware of potential dangers, you can ensure that you and your loved ones have a safe and enjoyable time at the beach.
