Three Age-Appropriate Sherman Oaks Day Camp Programs
Aloha Beach Camp is divided into three specific aquatic day camp summer programs enabling your child to enjoy a distinctly age-appropriate camp experience.
Keiki Camp: Ages 4 to 6
Young children enjoy our Keiki Camp program, the first beach day camp just for 4, 5, and 6 year olds. This program is designed to give younger kids or those attending camp for the first time a safe and exciting introduction to the beach camp and ocean environments. Even non-swimmers are welcome and can enjoy Aloha Beach Camp safely. Campers never exceed waist-level depth in the water and their counselors are with them side-by-side at all times. Keiki Campers learn to boogie board, surf, play with metal detectors, build sandcastles, make candy leis, do arts & crafts projects and make many new friends and memories in the process. Learn more about Keiki Camp and all the fun activities your child will do at camp.

Kahuna Camp: Ages 7 to 10
If your child's a little older -- say, somewhere in that "tween bracket" from 8 to 10, they've probably gotten the itch for more exciting camp activities than the usual horseback riding and archery routine offered by other camps. So we developed Kahuna Camp just for them! These aren't the same old boring activities your child's done in the past. Surfing lessons, boogie boarding, body surfing, ocean swimming, inner-tubing and jet skiing rule the day here! Your child won't be able to get enough of the Kahuna program, and after experiencing it just one day, they'll begging to add a whole lot more!

Nalu Beach Camp: Ages 11 to 13
Do you have a teenager who feels they're too old for day camp or worried they'll be the oldest kid at camp? If so, please tell them not to worry because our Nalu Camp is exclusively for kids like them. In fact, they're the very reason we designed our Nalu Program in the first place. We know when kids reach a certain age, they need a lot more fun and excitement than when they were younger, so we developed our Nalu Program to give older kids and teens an epic day camp experience they'll never forget. Campers go surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and boating -- or they can just hang out on the beach with all the other older kids their age. So even if your child might think they're too old for camp, please tell them to think again. Not only will your child love all the amazing activities we offer for older kids, they'll also be pleasantly surprised how many older kids their age attend Nalu Camp!

Aloha Beach Camp takes place at the best beaches, harbors and ocean sites in the Los Angeles area. Our main base is Lifeguard Tower 7 on Zuma Beach. While a large part of our program happens there, campers will also enjoy various field trips on certain days throughout the summer. For instance, campers will go to fun places like Channel Islands Harbors for kayaking activities and even Oxnard Beach Park to explore the best aquatic venues in the area. The respective summer activity schedules (links below) for the Keiki, Kahuna, and Nalu Camps show where and when the program takes place each day. Free round-trip transportation from Sherman Oaks (including the Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Recreation Center) is provided for every camper, so you never have to drive your kids to camp yourself.

Beach Camp Safety
The importance of choosing a safe summer camp is second to none. Take heart knowing if an activity isn't safe, we wont do it, and if it's not fun, we won't do it very long.
As we embark on our 25th summer serving Sherman Oaks kids and families with safe, fun and exciting beach camp experiences, we're proud to say we have a 100% all-time safety record operating at Zuma Beach. Nobody has suffered anything more than a minor scraped elbow or knee -- the same types of minor injures kids get everyday. If you have any concerns about camp safety, please connect with us so we can help you feel more at ease. Our counselors are here to protect your child's safety while in our care, and Accredited Camp status help ensure a safe camp environment for your child.

Aloha Beach Camp Open House at Zuma Beach, Malibu Lifeguard Tower 7
We've tried to explain how much fun your child will have at Aloha Beach Camp this summer, but we can only demonstrate so much on the website. Why not learn more at our next open house? Spend some time at the beach to meet our staff, play games, and see how camp a typical day at camp operates during the summer. We'll be doing lots of camp activities at the open house, too, so it'll almost seem like the real thing. The Open House takes place Saturday, May 4 at Zuma Beach. Hope to see you there!
