The Most Popular Camps Are Filling Up Now
As we get deeper into the school year, many families contemplate summer opportunities for their kids. But many families don’t. Time gets away from them. Everyone’s so busy all the time, it seems like we never have a moment to rest. Time flies like crazy, and time gets away from us like crazy, too!
Here’s the problem though. Spring break is almost here. That means the school year will be winding down soon (can you imagine?), and summer camp enrollment season is upon us now. Summer camps fill up VERY fast. Most only have room for a limited number of kids. That means getting into the camp of your choice can be extremely competitive.
No matter how busy your life gets, don’t forget to make signing up for camp one of your priorities, because if you wait too long it might be too late. How do I know? From first-hand experience; I operate a camp myself! |
Limited Space Means Camp Sells Out Fast
At my summer camp, and many others I know, space fills up sooner rather than later. That's why you need to register for camp as soon as possible. Here's what I mean.
I've run three camp programs on the beach in L.A. For our Keiki Camp at Paradise Cove, we only have room for about 25 kids per day. As you can imagine, it doesn’t take very long before 25 kids per day sells out. And for our older kids’ programs -- the Nalu Camp and Kahuna Camp -- we only have space for a couple hundred kids per day combined. Considering how many thousands of families are searching and signing up for camps this time of year, you can see how fast space disappears.
Sure, life is busy and it seems like there’s ALWAYS a million things to do. And you certainly need to prioritize your tasks so you don't overlook the important stuff. But take it from me, a real-life camp director and father of 3, don’t let too much time pass before you pick a summer camp…Otherwise you could find yourself settling for your second or third choice.
And then you -- or even worse, your kids -- won’t be happy campers! :(
