Aloha Beach Camp is an official Billabong Summer Surf Camp, which means your camper learns to surf with top-quality instruction and the backing of one of the most respected names in surfing. Our trained, patient counselors make the ocean fun and safe for every camper — and no prior surf or water experience is needed to get started.
From the very first lesson, kids build confidence in the water while having an absolute blast catching waves at one of Southern California's most beautiful beaches.
Learn to Surf the Billabong Way
Surfing is about a lot more than standing up on a board. Our Billabong surf program teaches campers the full picture so they become safe, capable, ocean-smart surfers:
- Water-safety fundamentals and how to read the ocean before paddling out
- Ocean science — waves, tides, currents, and how the surf works
- Surf etiquette and respect for other surfers in the lineup
- Proper paddling, popping up, and riding technique, step by step
- Billabong pro appearances, gear, and giveaways throughout the summer
Camp Location & Program Details
Our Billabong Surf Camp is based at Zuma Beach in Malibu, one of the best beginner-to- advanced surf beaches in Los Angeles. Surfing is part of all three of our age-based programs — Keiki (ages 4–6), Kahuna (ages 7–10), and Nalu (ages 11–14) — so every camper learns at the right level.
Small groups: a maximum of 5 campers per surf instructor for plenty of personal attention.
Every level welcome: beginner, intermediate, and advanced surfers all get instruction matched to their ability.
More Billabong Surf Camp Info
There's no separate sign-up or add-on fee for surfing — the Billabong surf experience is included automatically in all three of our programs. When you enroll your child at Aloha Beach Camp, surfing instruction comes standard along with everything else we do at the beach.
