How Does the Program Work?
Aloha Beach Camp is comprised of three age-appropriate day camp programs your child must experience to believe. No prior beach or ocean experience is necessary at any of the programs because our counselors and staff will teach your camper how to do all the activities safely at a comfortable pace they enjoy.
If your child's tried other Agoura Hills area day camps or other programs they've outgrown, try Aloha Beach Camp this summer. We guarantee they'll love our program or we'll give you all your money back, guaranteed! |

Who are the Camp Counselors?
Kids enjoy camp the most when they love their counselors. So we've put together a team of mature, enthusiastic camp counselors your child will look up to and want to hang out with day-after-day. Our counselors are lifeguard, CPR, and First-Aid certified, and they're excited to meet your camper and deliver the most meaningful camp experience your child has ever had.
After completing a stringent 3-phase interview process conducted by our camp directors and camp owner Eric Naftulin, our staff is criminal-background checked, trained, and certified in group dynamics, child development, emergency management, first aid, CPR, lifeguarding and conflict-resolution techniques. We enjoy an 86% annual counselor return rate, generally unheard of in the camp industry, where most programs are happy if 50% of their staff comes back. Staffing is never an issue for us because our counselors love their jobs and their enthusiasm rubs off on your kids! But don't take our word for it. The Los Angeles Times said we set the bar high when hiring staff. That means we have a lot to live up to! You can learn a lot more about our counselors and staff here and even meet them in person at our next Open House. We expect many Agoura Hills families to be there, too, so please come by and say hello. We're looking forward to seeing you there! |
Free Transportation for Agoura Hills Kids
Remember we said Agoura kids are in for a treat because Aloha Beach Camp's coming to your area? Well, we're not actually coming there, because by now you know our program takes place at the beach. What we meant was we're now offering a convenient new Agoura Hills bus stop just a few minutes away from where you live.
Many families have been waiting a long time for Aloha Beach camp to establish a bus stop in Agoura. Hundreds of Agoura families attending our program over the years had to drive their kids to our McDonald's Restaurant bus stop at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Rd. & the 101 freeway.
That stop's still available if you want it, but assuming you live closer to Agoura, now you can meet our bus at Islands Restaurant at Kanan Road and the 101 Freeway instead. Now you only need to drive a few minutes to meet the bus. Easy! Incidentally, our buses are equipped with seat belts and operated by the same experienced drivers who've driven for us the past 20 years. The bus drivers are California state-certified and subject criminal background checks and mandatory drug testing by the CHP. Our counselors always ride the buses with the kids where they lead games and activities the bus to keep the kids engaged. |
Most importantly, there is never an additional cost for the bus. It's completely free with your child's enrollment. That's a pretty nice benefit compared to other camps who charge extra for transportation.Free transportation for Agoura Hills families is part of the camp experience and the bus ride is part of the fun.
Flexible "Al-a-Carte" enrollment scheduling. Sign up for Camp by the Day
If you're like most families we meet, you have many family activities to juggle, especially during the summer when school's not in session. You're coordinating camp schedules, summer school, karate classes, play dates, sports practices and games -- everything.
Doesn't it get frustrating trying to piece everything together? Just when you think you've got a handle on it, camp gets in the way because of the requirement to fit into the camp's preset session dates. So now you have to rearrange everything and start over again. Aggravating!

Remember the old Burger King commercial where you could have your burger however you want it? That's what Aloha Beach Camp summer registration is like. Special orders don't upset us, and you can arrange your child's schedule on your own terms.
Here's what we mean: Do you want to come to camp Mondays only? No problem. How about just next Tuesday and the following Wednesday? Perfect. Or does two weeks from Friday work better for you? Great! Mix and match days to your heart's content. However you decide to sign up is totally your call, and any combination of days that fit your family's schedule is perfectly fine with us. It's summer camp scheduling YOUR way, not ours, and this pioneering day-by-day enrollment format is only available from Aloha Beach Camp. |
But here at Aloha, it's different. You never need to plan your summer around rigid camp sessions that don't work for your family's busy schedule. You can create your own camp schedule instead.
Safety and Fun are the Name of the Game
Sometimes parents feel hesitant sending their kids to the beach without them. Maybe you think a beach camp experience might expose your child to more risk compared to other types of camps. Please don't worry one bit, because it's just not true. Your child will be just as safe with us as they will at any camp, and we don't make that claim lightly. It's based on historical fact.
Nobody at Aloha has ever gotten hurt, lost, or wandered off. How many other camps can say the same thing about themselves? We'll pit our safety record against any camp's, and we'll protect your child's safety as if your child were our own. It comes down to this: If something isn't safe, we aren't going to do it. And if a something isn't fun, we're not going to do it very long.
We've been operating our program 25 years and have a 100% all-time safety record. We intend to keep it that way. We understand the camp experience means nothing without extreme safety controls in place. Our counselors practice routine emergency management procedures including earthquake, fire, aquatic, and transportation safety drills. |
Our counselors are lifeguard, CPR, and First-Aid certified for your peace of mind. And camp take place within arm's reach distance of L.A. County beach lifeguards, lake lifeguards, paramedics, and Sheriff's department should we ever need them. We have not needed them yet, and don't intend to! So please rest easy sending your child to Aloha Beach Camp.
Your kids will be well-taken care of and have the time of their lives at camp. To be honest, the real risk of signing up for Aloha Beach Camp is waiting too long to do it, because sooner rather than later we'll sell out. And then we'll have some very unhappy campers because they couldn't get in to camp! Please let us know if you have any questions about Aloha Beach Camp safety. We'd appreciate the opportunity to connect with you.

What About Sunscreen?
The sun is part of the fun the beach, but too much of anything isn't a good thing! We've gotten pretty good at limiting campers' sun exposure without interfering with their fun at camp. Before the kids arrive at the camp, our staff lines the beach with tents and canopies creating tons of shade from the sun. When the kids arrive at camp, we lather them in sunscreen before they put a toe in the water. Further, we have counselor-assisted sunscreen application sessions 4 to 6 times daily. Finally, camp activities alternate back and forth from water-based to land-based, so after the kids spend time in the ocean, they follow that up with an equal amount of time spent under the canopies enjoying quiet activities on the sand like arts and crafts. Then it's time for sunscreen again and the sequence repeats itself.
What if My Child Doesn't Love Camp?
No risk, no hassles, no fine print. No questions asked if you decide Aloha Beach Camp's not for you. But you'll get a 100% refund just for trying, and best of all we'll still be friends. What have you got to lose? Nothing! Sign up for camp today!
Agoura's Only Accredited Summer Beach Day Camp
Many things set Aloha apart from other beach camps. But sometimes it's hard to tell since our competitors copy almost everything we do. But do you know what they wish they could copy, but can't? The fact we're ACA accredited, and they aren't. Accredited summer camps set the standard for quality and excellence in key aspects of camp operation unaccredited camps haven't achieved. Being an accredited camp is like being an accredited college or university. You wouldn't send your child to an unaccredited school, so why would you choose an unaccredited camp?
|
To achieve accreditation, Aloha Beach Camp voluntarily submits to routine audits and inspections by 3rd party officials from the American Camp Association. During such audits and inspections, we are required to prove our compliance with up to 300 best practice and government-recognized industry standards relating to:
- Camper and staff health and safety
- Transportation
- Staff hiring and training
- Aquatics training and supervision
- Program and activity planning, implementation and execution
- Camper-to-counselor ratio and supervision
- Current and appropriate staff credentials and certifications
- Emergency management and planning procedures
- Hundreds of additional standards giving you peace of mind knowing you've chosen an above-board beach camp program
Most camps are not accredited. As already noted, Aloha Beach Camp is the only accredited beach camp in L.A. and the Valley. In fact, fewer than 25% of all camps in the entire United State have earned this high distinction. So before you sign up for camp this summer, in Agoura or anywhere else, ask the camp director if their program is ACA accredited. If it isn't, ask them why. Your child's safety and fun could depend on it, because non-accredited camps aren't held to account by independent third party officials the way accredited camps are. That means it's easier for non-accredited camps to cut corners. Cutting corners is not something you want your child's camp counselor or camp director to be doing. As an accredited camp, Aloha Beach Camp sets the standard for safety, quality and fun with respect to running an above-board beach day camp program.
